What major would I need for a job in Organizational Development Consultant, Management or Psychology? I have to decide my major at my college by the end of the semester and I have been looking a lot into what I'd like to do. I had originally thought Business (admin.) but it's just not for me. So I started looking into Management, and that's more suited for me and what I'm interested in. I started also considering a minor in Psychology as well, but as I was looking for jobs, I came across Organizational Development Consultant, and I think it's something I'd really love to do. I was looking up more info on the job, but I'm confused as to what I'd need to even be considered for it. Would I stand a chance with a major in Management and minor in Psychology, or vice versa, or what? I haven't looked extremely hard into what I'd need yet, so I was just hoping maybe someone with 1st hand experience, (or whatever really!) could help me out. Thanks a bunch! also wanted to add I'm getting my bachelors degree in either subject, and will have to stick to just that for now...so is my job choice even possible?

How do I start a consulting business with very little start-up capital? I am interested in building on my expertise in non-profit management, organizational development, and strategic planning. There seem to be very few consulting firms that occupy this particular space, particularly in the categories of interim-CEO/Executive Director, non-profit company restructuring, strategic planning. However, most consulting firms that appear to be successful have far more infrastructure than I can afford to develop. I would love to get advice about how to launch a consulting firm with limited resources for the start-up.

Which to potential employers hold in higher regard, the degree or the institution itself? I'm almost done getting a Master's in Organizational Development from a small, private university in Kansas City. I got my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Communications (double major) from another small, private college. I know the most beneficial way to go would be to get degrees from prestigious and recognizable institutions. Will potential employers take my degrees into consideration, or will they dismiss them because I didn't get them through prestigious universities?
